Smoothie Specialist

This position is for the team-oriented person who wants to earn competitive pay and have fun preparing vibrant and nourishing drinks at a fast paced health food cafe on the coast of Maine. Smoothie Specialists at Thrive provide friendly and responsive customer service, they are menu experts and find joy and fulfillment in representing the business and the brand.

Tasks:

  • Assist customers, make menu recommendations (when necessary), handle cash register transactions, make change

  • Prepare smoothies and smoothie bowls

  • Clean and maintain work space, production equipment, service areas, seating areas, and restrooms

  • Setup or restock product displays and coolers

  • Provide assistance and support to the back of house kitchen team 

Requirements:

  • Positive attitude

  • Punctual and reliable

  • Hard-working

  • Willingness to work early mornings (6:30am)

  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with guests in a genuine and authentic manner 

  • Organized, able to multi-task, work quickly and efficiently (while remaining detail oriented).

  • Able to understand and speak using the predominant language(s) of guests

  • Able to make change

  • Familiarity with basic cooking measurements (teaspoon, tablespoon, cup, half cup, etc.)

  • Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)

  • Able to reach, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Stamina and ability to work up to 40-50 hours per week (for full time employees)

Availability: 

  • This position is seasonal, starts in late April/early May and runs through late October

  • Full-time or part-time (minimum of 3 shifts per week)

  • Early mornings (6:30am) and weekends

  • Preference is given to individuals who are looking for full-time work and to those who can commit to a full season (April through late October).  

    *Particular interest in, or passion for healthy food and healthy living is a huge plus! (but not required).

    *This is a tipped position that requires job skills similar to that of a bartender or barista

    *Employee housing may be available to those who qualify

Cold Press Operator

This position is for someone who enjoys the excitement, fast pace, and hustle and bustle of a commercial kitchen but wants to be part of a more upbeat, team-oriented and positive kitchen work environment. The person in this position is incredibly organized, good at managing their own time, and finds joy and fulfillment in working independently through a list of daily tasks. 

Tasks:

  • Prep raw fruits and vegetables for juice production: wash, peel, chop, etc.

  • Safely operate, clean and maintain a cold-press juicer

  • Bottle juice, manage product rotation, expiration dates, cooler displays 

Requirements:

  • Positive attitude

  • Punctual and reliable

  • Hard-working

  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with coworkers in a respectable, genuine and authentic manner 

  • Willingness to work early mornings (6:00am)

  • Organized, able to multi-task, work quickly and efficiently (while remaining detail oriented).

  • Able to understand and speak using the predominant language(s) of guests

  • Familiarity with basic cooking measurements (teaspoon, tablespoon, cup, half cup, etc.)

Kitchen Staff

This position is for the person who enjoys the excitement, fast pace, and hustle bustle of a commercial kitchen but wants to be part of a small, upbeat, team-oriented and positive kitchen work environment. Thrive Juice Bar Kitchen Staff are people who like to start their work day early (6:00am) and are team players who enjoy contributing to all areas of a diverse commercial kitchen.

Tasks:

  • Fulfill orders in a fast paced kitchen, cook on the hot/cold lines

  • Assist with food prep: wash, slice, chop, shred, peel, soak, dice, blend, roast/cook/bake, sauce making, etc.

  • Wash dishes

  • Receive and organize deliveries

  • Clean and maintain kitchen work space and equipment

  • Provide assistance and support to the front of house and juice production teams

Requirements:

  • Positive attitude

  • Punctual and reliable

  • Hard-working

  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with coworkers in a respectable, genuine and authentic manner 

  • Willingness to work early mornings (6:00am)

  • Organized, able to multi-task, work quickly and efficiently (while remaining detail oriented).

  • Able to understand and speak using the predominant language(s) of guests

  • Knife skills, comfortable using kitchen equipment

  • Familiarity with basic cooking measurements (teaspoon, tablespoon, cup, half cup, etc.)

  • Commercial kitchen experience preferred

  • Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)

  • Able to reach, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds

  • Stamina and ability to work up to 40-50 hours per week (for full time employees)

  • Full-time or part-time (minimum of 3 shifts per week)

  • Early mornings (6:00am) and weekends
